Rain to continue till tomorrow

The unusual bout of rain in the Bengali year-end Chaitra (late Spring) is likely to continue throughout today with the likelihood of clouds receding tomorrow and revealing the sun.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department official Bazlur Rashid said the “unusual” rain is caused by a seasonal trough in the northern region of adjoining West Bengal.
“It is very likely that the clouds will disappear by today. A bright and sunny morning is expected by us tomorrow and the following week,” he told reporters.
This year, rain started pouring at the end of Falgun and right into Chaitra – the season which is expected to be dry, hot and humid. Seasonal storms – Kalboishakhi – are occasional visitors.
Since last night, It was drizzling all around Dhaka after a day of sunshine – which increased in volume and became a downpour around 2:00am. The rain continued till 7:30 am today causing much trouble for school and office-goers.
Today’s weather forecast states the trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area. Another trough of low lies over northern part of West Bengal. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.
Rain or thunder accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many locations around the country. The temperature of the day might reduce slightly.
