Heavy Downpour disrupts normal life

The country is experiencing a moderate to heavy rainfall throwing the normal life in complete disarray.
Incessant rains triggered by monsoon inundated many parts of the capital for the third consecutive day on Saturday.
The Met Office has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall till Sunday morning in the different parts of the country.
The heavy shower and flood waters inundated many coastal areas, marooning lakhs of people.
At least 10 people have been killed in flash floods and landslides in Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban due to heavy rain. Thirteen others were injured and two were reported missing.
Five were killed in flash flood at Ramu, and two died after trees fell on them during the storm at Saint Martin’s Island on Friday. A child was killed and four were injured in a landslide at Ghonar Parha hill in the city.
Another landslide in Bandarban killed two children.
The Met Office, meanwhile, recoded 202 mm of rain till Friday evening in Cox`s Bazar, while it recorded 359 in Chandpur, 106 mm at Khepupara, 81mm in Kutubdia, 75mm in Barisal, 50mm in Ishwardi and 25mm in Dhaka.
Besides Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban, several areas in Bangladesh, including Chittagong, Chandpur, Faridpur, and Jhenaidah have been submerged.
Many roads and lanes of the capital went under water due to rain, causing immense sufferings to people and disrupting their normal activities, slowing vehicular movement and causing huge traffic jams. Commuters faced problems in reaching their destinations due to huge traffic jam triggered by the torrential rains.
