Three more SSC question papers leaked on WhatsApp, Facebook, child journalist unearths
17 Feb, 2017
Amidst a fiasco over the leak of Dhaka board SSC math test question paper, three more question papers of Dhaka and Barisal boards are being sold or circulated free on the eves of the exams.
The three question papers are of physical education exams of Dhaka and Barisal boards, and Dhaka board physics exams.
A child journalist at bdnews24.com's Hello page, who is taking the SSC exams this year, has unearthed the latest leak.
Images of both creative and Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) sections of Dhaka board physical education exam question paper was posted on Facebook page 'Out Prosner Bazar' on the night before the examination was held on Feb 14.
The Barisal board physical education exam questions were out on another Facebook page 'Ssc out Question Bank 2017' on the same night.
The child journalist received the Dhaka board physics question paper on Wednesday night through messaging app WhatsApp in a similar approach used by bdnews24.com earlier to find the leak of Dhaka board math test. The physics test was held on Thursday.
All the leaked questions were exactly the same used in the tests.
Alerted about the new revelations, Tapan Kumar Sarkar, the exam controller at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, told bdnews24.com on Thursday night: "We don't have any information on more question paper leaks. We haven't found anything."
After Sunday's revelation of the Dhaka board math question paper leak, Tapan had admitted that the questions received half an hour before the test matched with those used in the exam.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and the officials in his ministry then said they were investigating the matter.
Asked about the investigation, Tapan on Thursday said, "It is under way."
Dhaka board Chairman Professor Mahbubur Rahman received bdnews24.com's call on his mobile phone later in the night, but once he knew where the call came from, he said he "could not speak at that time because he was busy at a function".
Education Minister Nahid was unreachable on his mobile phone.
After bdnews24.com published the leak report on Sunday, he said the government will postpone test if question paper leak is proved before it is held, or cancel it in case of finding proof afterwards.
Later, his comments indicated he backed away from the stance.
