Prabir Mitra turns 73

The name of Prabir Mitra is popular to all film lovers in the country. This national film award-winning actor has been working in the country’s film industry for last 46 years at a time. He will turn 73 today.
Although having various activities he will pass the whole day along with family members at his residence in the city’s Segunbagicha area.
While sharing his feelings in this regard Prabir Mitra said, “I have already passed maximum time of my life. Everybody pray for me as I can work properly. I am still working for my viewers and fans. They are my main inspiration in the field of acting.”
Prabir Mitra started his acting career during school life. He firstly performed in a play of Rabindranath Tagore, ‘Dakghar.’ Then he started his acting practice at Lalkuthi in Dhaka. He strated his film career with the hands of director H Akbar. That movie’s story and script were written by his school friend ATM Shamsuzzaman.
Later he performed as hero in some movies including “Titas Ekti Nodir Naam” and “Chabuk.” He lastly performed in role of hero in movie “Siraj-ud-Daula.”
At one stage of his acting career, he concentrated on to perform in character-based role. Hereditary he is permanent residence of old Dhaka. One of roads of that area was named with his grandfather’s name ‘Hariprashanna Mitra Road.’ His wife Ajanta Mitra died in 2000. He has one son and three daughters. His younger son was died in 2012.
Prabir Mitra got National Film Award by performing in movie “Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo,” directed by Mohiuddin. His acted last movie “My Name is Khan” was released in this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr. He has performed in role of Sakib Khan’s grandfather in this movie. He has already finished shooting of movies “Tomar Kachhe Wrinee,” “Shotorup-e Shotobar” and “Onek Sadhonar Por.”
