Outlaw killed in Jessore gunfight

An outlaw was killed in a gunfight with his rivals at Subrara village under Abhoynagar upazila in the district early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Siraj Akonji, 40, an activist of the outlawed Biplobi Communist Party and son of Afsar Akonji.
Khabir Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge of Abhoynagar Police Station told the banglamail they were informed that a gunfight was taking place between two groups of terrorist in a jungle at Subrara village around 12:15am.
A team of police rushed to the spot and found the body of Siraj lying in the jungle, he said.
Sensing the presence of the police team, the terrorists of both the groups managed to flee the scene.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
One shooter gun and four bullet shells were recovered from the spot.
