PM wiped out option of dialogue: Fakhrul
03 Sep, 2013
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has wiped out all possible options of holding dialogue and compromise, BNP (Bangladesh Nationalist Party) acting secretary-general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said.
This came as he was speaking with journalists at the party’s Nayapaltan office in Dhaka Tuesday.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Monday told secretaries that the parliament would remain effective for 90 days from 27 October. She also said the cabinet would remain operative. That’s how she blocked all possible ways to hold discussion and reach a consensus. Her speech has nullified the prospect of dialogue,” Alamgir said.
“The Awami League is conspiring to perpetuate power. It, however, will not be successful in doing so in the face of people’s resistance.”
The BNP leader articulated that the 18-party alliance won’t participate in polls under a partisan administration
