Recently we are observing that some identical news papers (Daily star, Prothom alo...), so called media and human right workers (Mr. Mizan, S. Kamal, Mahfuz Anam, Motiur Rahman...) are trying to establish a concept that Bangladesh is one of the countries where most of the extremists live! Interesting is that all of them are not clarifying what they mean by extremist. "Extremism" is a relative terms, it may very person to person, community to community, generation generation, and even country to country. Meaning whatever, in general sense, extremist can be defined as - 'the activities which go against of general norms, values, laws of a country, and those who commit these are called extremist. However, the said definition cant be used in all where or in all time. The main problem is that the ruling party of Bangladesh and its partisan media and other workers are using this word 'extremist/extremism' as a tool to attack and suppress the opposition viewers with the help of govt.'s admin and its media...... Neutrally if we think that govt, itself with help of its partisan media and workers violating all of the said laws and values to get political advantage over the opposition. Hence, should we call the ruling party and its partisan media and workers are "extremists"??
