অস্টেলিয়ার সিডনি থেকে অনেকগুল লোকাল মাসিক পত্রিকা প্রকাশিত হয়। তার মধ্যে Australian Muslim Times পত্রিকাটি বেশ জনপ্রিয়। আজকে তাদের ডিসেম্বর সংখ্যাটি হাতে নিয়ে একটি নিউজে চোখ আটকে গেল। খবরটি বাংলাদেশের বিচার বিভাগ সংক্রান্ত। সংবাদটি এখানে হুবুহু দেওয়া হল।

Heading of the News: Two more executions in Bangladesh

Two Bangladeshi opposition figures were executed last week by the Bangladeshi regime that has been internationally deplored as an act of judicial killing which is the ongoing part of the persecution of political opponent.

The two prominant politician were Ali Ashan Muhammad Mujahid, scetary general of Jaamat e Islami and Salaudden Quader Chowdhury, adviser to former prime minister Khaleda Zia and a member of the standing committee for the Bangladesh National Party (BNP). Both were the members of parliament for several years.

The so called “International Crime Tribunals” and there proceedings have been decleared aganist the international legal standards by almost all global instituations including Amnety International and human right watch etc.

Several prominent personalities, including a member of UK house of lords and five member of US congress, also stated That tribunal process was “Deeply flawed” and that they were concerned by reports that“Democratic space is shrinking” in Bangladesh.

Stephen J. Rapp, a former American ambassador who led the state Department,s office of the Global Criminam Justice, Called Mr Chowdhury’s persecution “Particularly Disturbing” because he was not allowed to call alibi witness, including a former US ambassader, who could testify that he left Bangladesh in March 1971, and was therefore not in the country at the time of the crimes he was accused of committing.

The actions of the present government is presenting Bangladesh as as Pariah state in the eyes of world opinion. The international community needs to end its silence and take some solid actions to stop this miscarriage of justice in Bangladesh.

ভবিৎষতে হয়ত বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশ থেকে প্রকাশিত বাংলাদেশের বিচার সংক্রান্ত খবরগুল ঐতিহাসিক দলীল হয়ে থাকবে এটা ঠিক তবে এই খবরগুল বাংলাদেশের ভাবমূর্তি যথেষ্ট ক্ষতি করছে।
