Newton had a beautiful model of the solar system placed on a table in his house which was presented to him by a craftsman friend. One day a friend came over for a visit. His friend was a nonbeliever- didn't believe in the existence of God.

When the friend arrived at Newton’s house, the model of the solar system caught his eye, and he asked:

“Isaac, could I inspect the model more closely”

“Of course, you can”- Newton replied

After some time, the friend asked,

“Isaac, who had crafted this wonderful model of the solar system”

“Just nobody “- Newton replied

Confused, the friend repeated the question, but Newton said:

“No one had made the model; it just appeared on this table by accident, out of nothing”

The friend become very much upset and at this point Newton said:

“If you are not convinced that this crude replica of the solar system had just appeared by accident, how could you believe that the real solar system, with all its complexity and design, could have appeared just by chance or accident? Doesn't every design demand a designer?”

But seldom have we added reasons to our faith . Human tend to be very much content with their prejudiced beliefs - blind beliefs; Georg C. Lichtenberg has said:

“With most people disbelief in one thing is founded on a blind belief in some other thing.”

Newton’s experience of the Grand Designer- the Creator, is expressed beautifully in his famous sayings below:

“This most beautiful system [The Universe] could only proceed from the dominion of an intelligent and powerful Being.”

“To myself I am only a child playing on the beach, while vast oceans of truth lie undiscovered before me.”

“He who thinks half-heartedly will not believe in God; but who really thinks has to believe in God.”

Sir Isaac Newton is considered by many to be the greatest and most influential scientist ever lived. Prof. Michael H. Hart, in his famous book ‘The 100’ placed him in number two – after Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and before Prophet Jesus (pbuh).A lifelong bachelor, Newton was a religious person, believed in oneness of God - wrote more on interpretation of scriptures and spirituality than on science and mathematics - he was more associated with.

God’s signs are everywhere in this universe but men have very little time to wonder about, as God says in the Quran:

“Behold! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, - there are indeed Signs for men of understanding” (AL-Qur’an 3:190).

“And how many a Sign is there in the heavens and the earth which they pass by, yet they turn aside from it” (Al-Quran, Surah Yusuf 12:105).

Indeed there are Signs of God everywhere around, but it is the prejudices (Satan) that stands in between.

There are almost thousand verses in the Quran that speaks about science. Here is a God's reminder to those who ignores His signs around:

“These are the ones who rejected the signs of their Lord and His meeting. So their works were in vain, and We will not give them any value on the day of Resurrection” (Surah Kahf- 18:105-translation by Edip-Layth)
