Our youth in the road and parents are neutral

Youths continue their demonstration at Shahbagh for the tenth consecutive day on Thursday when hundreds of people are joining the movement, expressing solidarity chanting fiery slogans.People of all strata mostly students of schools, colleges and universities started to throng the intersection, popularly known as Projonmo Chattar, around 10:00am demanding death penalty for all war criminals.Earlier around 6:30am, the day's programme began with the national anthem.When couples usually plan for celebrating the Valentine's Day on February 14 in a romantic way, this year they have decided to pass the day with a different mood.They were chanting slogans like "Rastay rastay rob uthechhe razakar er fashi chai (demand for death penalty of razakars raised in every corner), Jani jani sobai jani Jamaat manei Pakistani (we all know that Jamaat means Pakistani)".About Valentine's Day, Sharmin Sultana, a student at history department of Dhaka University, said, "We don't have time to celebrate the day. It is time to ensure punishment to those who were against the country's Liberation War."While visiting Institute of Fine Arts adjacent to the Shahbagh intersection, reporters found that some of the students were chanting slogan "Rang, tuli canvas, razakar er moron fash (colour, brush and canvas; death trap for razakars)."They also gave a title for this year's Valentine's Day as 'Nil Bishader Chhoa (touch of melancholy blue)'.Fine arts students were seen distributing copies of a speech written by Shaheed Janani Jahanara Imam against the collaborators among the people.Prominent actor Subarna Mostafa and singer Haider Hossain joined at Shahbagh intersection expressing solidarity of the protest.A group of Shommilito Muktijoddha Forum also joined the movement in the morning. "We all want capital punishment of all war crimes suspects through proper judgement, said Amir Hossain Mollah, chief adviser of the forum.The movement began on February 5, soon after a war crimes tribunal sentenced Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah to life term in prison for crimes against humanity during the 1971 war.The protest was initiated by Bloggers and Online Activist Network, but it soon turned into a mass movement. Within days, it spread to other parts of the country, with the call for capital punishment to all war criminals getting louder and louder.On Tuesday afternoon, the protesters and countrymen held a three-minute silence to press home the demand for death penalty for all war criminals including Mollah.After holding the silence protest, the protesters vowed to continue their movement and said that Jamaat-Shibir would no way be able to stop the people's movement, not even by exploding bombs or carrying out attacks.Later, they declared a two-day programme to press home their demand.As par the programme, the youths rendered protest songs at Shahbagh Wednesday afternoon. They will hold a countrywide candlelight vigil at 7:00pm on Thursday in the memory of the martyrs killed by Jamaat and its student wing during and after the Liberation War.The protesters on Sunday submitted a six-point charter to the Speaker, demanding death penalty for all war criminals, and revocation of the state's power to grant them amnesty.The other demands include an amendment to the International Crimes Tribunal Act, allowing appeals against inadequate punishment and disposal of appeals from both the defence and the prosecution within three months of their filing.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the same day thanked the youths for raising voice against the 1971 war criminals.The organiser held a grand rally at Shahbagh intersection on February 8 where tens of thousands thronged and called for the death penalty for all war criminals of the Liberation War.

The above are the situation is going on Shahbag. As one of the parent and one of the national I have also sympathy for the youths but we must be fare for all. 41 years passed and now our youth has risen suddenly. Some Political leaders and Sosil somaj are favoring them today. These political leaders and the member of sosil somaj were the part of youth before. Why they din’t raise their voice for capital punishment before? Malaysia is very near to us and how they improved their life. Most of the days our national assets are damaging by violence. It affects business, students are not educating proper way due to the social and political crisis. Most of the families are suffering from these diseases. The parents and political leaders must guide the generation. Court is an autonomous institution for the justice. They have played their role accordingly. If the nation is not respecting their opinion , the law and rule never be established in the country. If the justice are afraid from the people or administration , the criminal will be gained and country will suffer long run.

In this regard I urge the nation to be silent and court must powered for their justification. Government must play vital role for building up country. Our ministers and government officials are not learning from rich countries how they are developing day by day. Most of our sectors are not giving hard labor or maintaining office properly.Country will rise if the law and rules are applying correctly , people if follow this correctly and administration if go friendly near to the people. What we are looking now? I am afraid of the present situation of the country. No one has security in the country.41 years we have seen the rulers are coming and speaking good words but poor are going to be poor. We are in practical position and seeing how many people are suffering From poverty. Actually Allah dint send them to suffer in this universe. If we are well wishing others no case will be found in the court and it is seen during the time of Omar (r). We must be honest and sincere , we must play a positive role wherever we are. I believe family is the smallest unit of the state and in this regard I am also a part of government. Every people of the country should play their roles to help the government. One day we will stand in front of Allah for our action. Government must appoint learned advisor around the ministry. They must advise for making a perpetual plan for giving a new direction to the country. Young generation are harmful for the society now a days. They need to be cared well and not to involve in destructive politics. May Allah bless all of us to understand about the situation and work together for the betterment of the country.
