মিসরের ক্ষমতাচ্যুত প্রেসিডেন্ট মুহাম্মদ মুরসি বলেছেন, তার অপসারণ গোটা দেশের প্রতিই বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা, জনগনের ভোটের অমর্যাদা ।

জেল থেকে পাঠানো এক চিঠিতে এ কথা বলেছেন মুরসি। জেলে প্রেসিডেন্ট মুহাম্মদ মুরসির সঙ্গে দেখা করে একদল স্বেচ্ছাসেবী আইনজীবী ১৩ নভেম্বর ২০১৩ এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে তার চিঠিটি প্রকাশ করেন। দেখা করার একদিন পর এ বার্তা প্রকাশ করেন আইনজীবীরা। তবে এসব আইনজীবী প্রেসিডেন্ট মুহাম্মদ মুরসির মামলায় লড়ছেন না।

নিজের অপসারণকারীদের বিচার দাবি করে মুরসি তার চিঠিতে সেনানিয়ন্ত্রিত সরকারের অপসারণ কামনা করেন। তিনি মিসরে রক্তপাতের জন্যও এই অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সেনা শাসন কে দায়ী করেন।

চিঠিতে মুরসি আরো বলেন, ৩ জুলাই তাকে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে গ্রেফতারের আগে ২ জুলাই রিপাবলিকান গার্ড তাকে অপহরণ করেছিল।

English translation of the urgent statement By the President, Dr. Muhammad Morsi:

Honorable People of Egypt,

I take this opportunity to inform you of what has happened since the thirtieth of June until today. What has happened is a full-featured military coup. In order to achieve stability of the country and reconciliation among all its people, we must first agree that this coup is a crime and treason.

It is a crime as it violated laws for organizing and mobilizing the armed forces, and treason to God and His Messenger as the Secretary of Defense betrayed the oath he had taken, and betrayed the Constitution, the people, and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the Egyptian army, and plunged the military into the furnace of politics.

It is also a betrayal of the nation that has caused discord among its people, even within the same family.

Egypt will not recover until all the results of this coup have been eliminated, and until all those who have shed blood everywhere in the homeland have been held accountable.

We cannot grant amnesty to those responsible for the bloodshed. There must be just punishment in order to heal the hearts of thousands of families affected and pleases our Lord first and foremost.

Let the honorable Egyptian people know that I, along with my aide. was forcibly abducted on 2 / 7 / 2013, detained at the Republican Guard House until day 5 / 7 / 2013, and then forcibly transferred (Again) to a naval base that belongs to the armed forces. For four whole months I did not see anyone except Ms. Ashton, the delegation of Elders representing the African Union and four investigators, whom I refused to answer considering that all actions taken with me were contrary to the Constitution , which I swore to respect I do not have right to violate.

My first encounter with others was not until 04/11/2013 at the Police Academy (referring to the illegal court). I would like to mention in particular that I did not meet one of the leaders of the armed forces or representatives of the media and all what was attributed to me in this regard is unfounded.

I want to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the sincere people who have stood against the coup since the beginning and are still revolting against it on a daily basis in every corner of the homeland, in unprecedented steadfastness, as witnessed by the whole world, and despite being denied by those who are willing to deny the presence of the sun in the midday!

I assure these steadfast heroes that it is from them that I derive my own strength and determination to remain steadfast on what I have promised them; that I will uphold the interests of the country above to any other interest.

I say to these people that my personal rights are not worth anything compared to the rights of the nation. So, rally around the rights of the country, not those of any person, no matter what his position is.

I assure the great people of Egypt and the peoples of the world that there steadfastness is a strong message that the era of coups has passed and that the coup has started to crumble and will fall In sha Allah, with the strength of the Egyptian people and the struggle for rights and freedom. On this occasion, I salute the martyrs of the truth and all the victims of the past events in the country since the coup, the salute their families.

I truly say that this blood will chart the way towards the dignity of the nation.
