Police violence against women high in Bangladesh

Violence against women by police in Bangladesh now is at an all time high rate. Since the 29th of June at least 80 or more women taking part in religious discussion programs on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan have been arrested. They were even denied wearing the hijab or dresses prescribed in Islam by heinous police forces as they were being taken into police custody.
On 29 June, 40 women were arrested from #Khulna and other 5 from #Bogra. Police arrested them from iftar gatherings which had been arranged in local neighborhoods of Khulna and Bogra. It was alleged that police have tortured them mentally and in some cases even physically.
On 2 July, police arrested 16 women from Satkhira district when they had congregated in a religious discussion. According to local media reports, police had suddenly stormed the gathering and assaulted the participants, most of whom were women with children. (http://goo.gl/S68HFp)
Conspiracy to uproot Islam from Bangladesh is the prime cause behind this countrywide police violence against Muslim women in the holy month of Ramadan. The police have plotted some ridiculous allegations against the women of possessing explosives while attending the iftar programs. They have harassed these women detainees in their custody and even arrested children from those programs. No citizen in the country is safe from police, and the recent arrest of innocent women is proof of this.
On the other hand, the ultra secular media have always played a leading role in falsifying such types of violence against Muslim women as they have been reporting in the same tone as that of the police. They have hidden these accounts of repression and violence by acting as the safeguard of such blatant acts of police terrorism and violence against Islam. We should firmly stand against such instances of unlawful violence by law enforcing agencies.
