GOVT. TO ESTABLISH FLOATING ICT TRAINING CENTRES IN BANGLADESH

Bangladesh government has undertaken an initiative to set up a floating ICT training centre. Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) has signed a MOU with Netherlands based Floating City Apps organization. As per the agreement, during the first phase of the project, floating training centres will be set up in four remote regions of the country. The training centres will have internet connections, 20 laptops and will also include solar power. The training sessions will be jointly conducted by the ICT Division and Netherlands floating infrastructure authority. The MoU signing ceremony was held at the capital last week and Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for ICT, Ms. Melanie Schultz Van Haegen, Minister of Infrastructure and Environment, Netherlands, Mr. Garben De Jong, Netherlands Ambassador to Bangladesh, ICT Division Secretary Shyam Sunder Sikder, BCC Executive Director S M Ashraful Islam, Board Member of Floating City Apps Mr. Frank Ban Ben Akker were present among others.
